03 Conditioning Complex

Silk Finish Complex

A lightweight conditioning complex — including cosmetic-grade silicones — that gives Hair Elixir its signature thin, glide-on feel and glass-like finish, never greasy.

The Science

Cosmetic silicones (including Dimethicone and Dimethiconol) form a fine, flexible film over the hair shaft, smoothing the cuticle and controlling frizz without weighing hair down.

Hair Benefit

A silky, non-greasy glide and a smoother, glossier finish immediately on application.

Silicone Explained

Silicone vs. Silicon —
the honest explanation.

Silicone is one of the most misunderstood words in haircare. Here is the honest, straightforward explanation.

Silicone

Silicone is a synthetic, cosmetic-grade ingredient used in haircare formulations for its conditioning properties. Hair Elixir's Silk Finish Complex uses cosmetic silicones (Dimethicone and Dimethiconol) to smooth the hair's surface and create its lightweight, glass-like glide.

Silicon

Silicon is a naturally occurring chemical element — the same element found in sand and quartz. It is not a cosmetic ingredient, and it is not what is used in Hair Elixir.

Silicone and Silicon are not the same thing, despite the similar name. Hair Elixir contains cosmetic-grade silicone, chosen deliberately for the finish it gives — not the element silicon.
